Hi I am a college student in need of everyones cooperation. For my critical thinking class we are doing some research on how we can come up with individual answers to complex questions. I was given the question "What is the biggest law firm in the bay area?" The bay area must include these six counties Alameda, San Mateo, San Francisco, Marin, Contra Costa, and Santa Clara. This question also asks how many lawyers work for that particular law firm and what is the starting salary and the highest salary as well. I am having problems defining "biggest" since it can be the law firm with the most lawyers, with the biggest building, or with the most locations. Please if you know the answer to any of these questions even if it is in just one county. Thank you.

I could see if there was no industry there, like in the Midwest rustbelt, but it's right next to a seaport. What happened? Why hasn't the prosperity from San Francisco and Berkeley been realized in Oakland?

My daughter has been out of school for a few weeks due to a an accident. (She's fine now). Her friend made her a care baggie because she missed the Chinese New Year celebration. Inside were different candies.

Two of them we can't figure out what they were but they were very tasty. One was a rust color and had a couple of holes going through it. It was oval shaped and had a taste between a potato and a piece of coconut. The second had a similar taste but it was coated in powdered sugar and was long and slender and white. There were also small off white balls with the same taste as well.

The teacher said it was Lotus but when we went to chinatown here in Oakland to buy some, the taste was horrible. Yes it was covered in what we thought was powdered sugar but ...Yuck!!!

I know we should ask the classmate but she is out of town for an early Spring Break, so does anyone out there know what it is and if you live in the SF/Bay Area could you tell us where to buy some??? Thanks!

I would like to become involved in a non-profit that promotes literacy/reading for children and/or adults. I emailed a First Book.org for the San Francisco Bay Area but never received a response. Other than the local library, what are some other avenues that I could pursue?

Places like Reading is Fundamental is currently not accepting any volunteers in California. Suggestions?

Does anyone know any good places in SF (or bay area), for prom dresses? I've been saving and I am thinking about getting a new dress, but not bargain ones. (possibly a coctial/evening dress or a bridemaid dress) ANY SUGGESTIONS?

although I would prefered actually visit a store, but I know there are plenty good websites out there, can you suggest one? (just want to let you know that I am NOT looking for a "princess dress," I am hoping for something more "modren"=)
