when my shower drains it bubbles sometimes in my toliet. We have a spetic system what can that mean? The water coming up is not dirty or anything and I am not sure if it is addtional water, I think it is more air causing the bubbles.

There's electrical behind the backer board, so I'm concerned. I have cut and screwed in the backer board, but I can remove it if necessary now to do things right. As it is, the backerboard (1/4") overlaps the lip/flange of the shower. I found out I am supposed to use fiberglass tape and mud for the seams, but I just want to avoid the possibility of water seepage at all. Should I put up a membrane, or is that moot since I'd have to screw holes through it to reattach the backer board?

I've gotten a few books on wildlife-friendly gardening and have implemented the suggestions with much success. However, the books hardly mention toads at all. I know I have at least one toad that roams around my garden, but I want to make a more suitable environment to attract more. I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan so Bufo Americanus is the one I'm trying to attract. Any suggestions, no matter how small, are appreciated :)

I was just putting my potato's on for the dinner, and the handle of the pan snapped, of course had they been hot, that would have potential harmful consequences, have you checked your pan handles recently? The pans are swan, and 4 years old.

For about 2 weeks now I have a large pan of water on my gas stove creating gentle to strong steam in my main living area of my home. We shut doors to all rooms except main living area where we spend most of the day. Roasty Toasty all day!!! My main heater for the home never kicks on the whole time!...When I turn off the pan of heated water...after a while the main home heater kicks on and seems to turn on often (over and over) even with the doors shut just as we do with the steam heating... it has a harder time keeping it warm in the house. Here are my questions....Does it make sense that the steam heating feels warmer than the heat from my home heater??..Question 2: I have gas home heater and gas stove...am I using TONS OF GAS by letting a big pan of water steam gently for hours. or am I saving money by doing it this way?

Our letterbox measures 12" x 3" and I am unable to find a draught excluder which is long enough in UK. Most of them only fit letterboxes 11" x 3". Any ideas please?
