when my shower drains it bubbles sometimes in my toliet. We have a spetic system what can that mean? The water coming up is not dirty or anything and I am not sure if it is addtional water, I think it is more air causing the bubbles.

Doesnt have anything to do with your septic. You might not have a vent for your drain for your shower, and the toilet is the closest point to vent.If your drain pipe for the shower is 1 1/2 pipe size ,than you can only go 5 feet max from your trap to the main drain line it connects to be properly vented.6 feet for 2 inch pipe and 8 feet for 3 inch pipe.If your distance is longer than any of those, you need to revent them to work properly. You could also check your main vent stack that goes thru the roof to make sure its not blocked

Compressed air will escape through the weakest point in your system. In your case it is the toilet..Hmm, not very good. It could be drain pipe blockage which could require renting a drain snake or calling the local rooter company, or it could be a full system. The system should have at least one vent (mine has two, one for the toilet and one for the tank).
I think your problem is in the drain pipe. Even vented (the vent is through the roof) air will come through your toilet when water backs up and then creates it's own air pressure as it tries to flow through the pipe.
Keep in mind that the vent pipe is blocked by water during this process so the toilet is the best source of venting.

You either do not have a vent connected to the shower or the vent is clogged. Drainage systems need air to operate properly. The air is obtained through the vent piping. If there is no air source, when a fixture is draining, it sucks air from the nearest fixture (in your case, it's the toilet). This depletes the water in the trap and allows sewer gas to enter the house.

when was the last time you had the septic tank pumped out? this should be done every 3 years/max.. it could also be some kind of blockage in your vent pipe.
not pumping the septic will cause the drain field to become clogged, the only way to fix that problem is to dig out the old drain field and replace it, very messy, smelly and expensive. the guy that services our septic system charges $145 to pump I feel that is cheap insurance compaired to replacing the drain field. good luck, hope this gives you some idea of where to start looking.
