i have sat with my legs crossed at the knee probably starting when i was around seven now i am fourty. i cross them every time i sit down, and always with the same leg right over left. eventually after a long period of crossing, my top leg gets numb. i have heard that crossing your legs can cause vein problems, back problems, and hip problems, i dont have any at all, but is this true that it is bad? do you cross your legs also? and are you aware it might be bad?

i think that the care received by patients in hospitals is very poor. The cleanliness is very poor, the personal hygiene is contributing to cross infections and the practice levels are questionable.
i have always said that you have to be very fit to survive a stay in hospital.
whilst visiting i saw the cleaner use one bucket of water to wash the bay, the next bay, the clinical room, the toilets too.
i experienced the sister change a drip with bare unwashed hands, spilling blood on the floor from this process whilst checking the needle in the arm and then moving straight onto the next patient no hand washing or gloves! during the same visit i was reading my daughters notes left on her bed and realised they were not even hers, i handed them in and got no response from the sister that this was even slightly poor practice or a breach of confidentiality. i am terrified that i will have a stay in hosp, what will i catch in there? and i am a nurse myself although not a general trained nurse

One ecography's interpretation stated the tumor was at the ovarium, another suggested it was at the peripheria. She is to have surgical intervention this Wednesday, do you know if petscan or another method could be used instead? She is at Colombia, any info about medical facilities that have this equipment over there would be good too.

I suppose its bullemia. Or when someone drinks to much and vommits at the end of the night. How long does it take for your body to consume what it intakes? Any feedback would be appreciated.

I understand it is very dangerous and this is a bizzare question but i heard that the body absorbs the calories and nutrients it intakes immediately. So therefore it makes me wonder why bullemics lose weigh if that fact is true. If that is true then bullemics do not lose weight by vommiting afterwards.

I have for as long as I can remember, shivered in short-sharp blasts (those associated with the phrase 'someone walked over your grave').
This appears to be a common phenomenon, affecting most people at some point. However, I seem to do this all the damn time, to the extent that my flat mates have labelled me with tourettes (which, apparently also involves involuntary twitches and not just amusing slanderous outbursts).
I refuse to accept this diagnosis however, and so set about attempting to discover the true cause for my twitch.
So far I have come across the myoclonous jerk and the hypnogogic jerk. The former seems to be associated withh various serious disorders, so I doubt it's that! the second, as far as i understand, is a side-effect of the mental transition between lucidity and dreaming.
Well, in my case, it doesn't seem to be related to fatigue and I'm reasonably convinced that I don't have MS or epilepsy as this has been ongoing my entire life.
So, why do I twitch??
