Weight lifting can help. To increase the bulk of muscles you work up to heavier weights. Start lower though, so you don't injure yourself. You increase the weight very gradually.
To gain strength and muscle tone, you lift less weight and more repetitions.
It would be a good idea to alternate the methods
Do not overdo, because your muscles are still growing at age 14 and you can do permanent damage if you try to do too much too fast.
Most men do not get the full broadness of their chest (pectorals) or biceps until at least 20 - 25 yrs old. Working out will help, but give yourself time to grow as well.
Best Wishes,
Sue

ECCENTRICS! If you do only concentrics, you will gain muscle, but not nearly as much as eccentrics (reversing the initial motion). The sarcomeres in your muscle are kinda like a socket wrench. They "let go" slowly, but "click" down. You also might (probably) not have finished going through puberty, so muscle strength will probably come more gradually than your legs.
So basically, do biceps and triceps work with a 3-5 pound barbell. Look in the mirror when you first start to make sure your scapula doesn't move. Also, go verrry slow. The slower you go on both eccentrics and concentrics, the more muscle you will build. If you have access to a pool, do some swimming ;-)

In todays computer age weak wrists and hands can result in sore wrists and hands from using computers for long hours.
There are many workouts for many purposes. The best way is to find an over all workout and concentrate on the areas of concern.
1. Diet. Lots of protien. Meat or amino acid supplements.
If you want to build up muscle bulk, then do weight training. But this can slow you down. Use a few repititions of heave weights.
If you just want strength then aerobic weight exercises are good. They use many repititions with light weights.
Specifically you want to wrist curls and grip squeeze activities.
Also generally be active. Play regular sport to keep fit.
