The area he's referring to is all the lymph tissue in the mediastinum (area between the lungs). He also said they're hot and ready to go. Please respond only if you have knowledge or experience related to this unfortunate experience. Thanks

My Axillary lymph nodes have been swollen for the past few months now, on both sides and while they havent really been painful ive become recently concerned by them. I have been suffering recently by this odd "numbing" pain in my Upper Arm. Its a pain that feels very deep and the best way to describe it is numbing. It only happends in one upper arm, then eventually transfers to the other arm. Oddly enough I never have the pain in both arms at one time. It transfers over. Can someone give me any idea as to what it might be and if you agree that its possibly associated to my swollen Axillary lymph nodes??

Age:25
Sex:Female
History: No history of cancer or heart disease on either side of family.

New adjunct chemo cures twice as many people with cancer and has been shown to increase tolerance to chemo so everybody can take their medicine.
Yet, I have been attacked for posting these promising medical studies.
The medicine is real and the results are real too!
Any idea why medical professions have a negative sentiment to a new cure?

Novelos has announced positive results of a phase I/II trial of NOV-002, for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer. The drug is currently approved in Russia, where it is marketed as Glutomix. Intent-to-treat analysis indicated that 69% (11/16) of subjects receiving intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous (SC) NOV-002 in combination with chemotherapy achieved objective (complete or partial) tumor response, vs. 33% (5/15) receiving chemotherapy alone (p=0.044). Subjects receiving NOV-002 via IV and intramuscular (IM) injection plus chemotherapy experienced a non-significant 46% (6/13) objective response rate. The drug also produced improved tolerance of chemotherapy in both dosing groups, with 100% of the IV/SC and 85% of the IV/IM subjects completing 4 cycles of chemotherapy, vs. 50% of subjects receiving chemotherapy alone (p=0.004). This randomized, controlled study enrolled 44 patients, who received one of two regimens of NOV-002 (IV/SC or IV/IM) plus chemotherapy or chemotherapy alone for 6 months. The company announced plans to initiate phase II/III trials of the drug in 2006, based on these results.

No spreading anywhere else. We plan to take 6 weeks of radation plus a 3 hit round of chemo. Any thoughts? The goal is to shrink the tumor enough to remove only one lobe of the lung. We have tried 3 hits of chemo with no response.

Does anyone know the level of white blood count which is considered dangerous and suggests a sustained malignancy?

It seems that physicians apply different standards to different people and short of suing, and asking why so-and-so received a bone marrow transplant when his or her white count was higher, it would be nice to know the levels up front.

Can anyone illuminate?

Also anyone know a good cancer centre in the States and/or a decent diagnostician?

If a patients has a DNR (do-not-resuscitate) order, can it be overridden? The patient's wishes should be carried out, but if a family member disagrees with the order can the order be terminated? Isn't this a legal wish that should be followed or should family members be able to terminate this order because they feel the patient can be saved? Can a family member do this just by saying terminate the order?

I am in my late 30's male and diagnosed with thyroid cancer. I tryed to join a group named Thyca and was denied membership, no one will tell me why. I joined their other group, Thycamental Challenges and was in there for about a day and was banned too. Is anyone else having problems joining this group?
The group does not care that my wife and kids are crying thinking I am going to die, I wanted to join the group for support and feel closed out.

My mom had a liver transplant 12 years ago. She is now battling KS - started on her leg in a small way but now is whole lower limb. They did radiation which did not help - the lesions are overwhelming and she is unable to walk. She has had one treatment of DOXIL ( liposome doxorubicin) and was told that the next treatment would be in 2-3 weeks. She's at the point of wanting amputation if it will prolong her life. My question: it seems that prescribing DOXIL means the cancer is systemic - would amputation be an option or has the cancer already travelled beyond the leg?
