Your question is not clear. Most oncologist follow a protocol treatment for each specific type of cancer based on the stage of the cancer and other factors. You do not mention which type of leukemia your Mom has but here are the NCCN Clinical Guidelines for Acute Myeloid Leukemia:
http://www.nccn.org/professionals/physician_gls/PDF/aml.pdf
And, here's a clinical guide for Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia
http://www.nccn.org/professionals/physician_gls/PDF/cml.pdf
Your mothers doctor will follow these types of guidelines in treating her leukemia.
Stay strong and supportive, your Mom needs you.

Many patients with blood cancers end up receiving stem cell or bone marrow transplants. Leukemia patients are usually limited to allogenic transplants (meaning using a donor's marrow) An allogenic transplant can be from a family member or a MUD (Matching unrelated donor) There are risks that go along with transplants, such as the patient going septic from having no immune system, the patient rejecting the new bone marrow and graft vs. host disease (new marrow attacking the patient's organs)
I am a lymphoma patient and currently looking for a donor for an allogenic transplant, so I have some experience in this area. Stay positive and be there for your mom. A lot of the prognosis depends on the patient's attitude and will to survive. Don't give up hope!

Cancer is caused by poor nutrition (including oxygen) and stressors. Stressors can be environmental, like heavy metals, food additives or pollution, or emotional or job stress.
Our bodies have 60 trillion--yes, trillion--cells, and there are always some mutating into cancer cells, but a healthy immune system kills them before they have a chance to get a foothold in the body.
It takes a LONG time, usually, or an exrtaordinary amount of stressors, to degrade the immune system to the point where it won't do its job, but once cancer has formed, it can spread rapidly.
THIS IS IMPORTANT! There are ways to BEAT cancer that the AMA is keeping from the American public, that are being used in Europe and around the world. Here is some information that is getting hard to find--"The Cure for All Cancers", ISBN 0963632825; "A Cancer Therapy", ISBN 0882681052; "Hydrogen Peroxide--Medical Miracle", ISBN 1885236077; "The Natural Cure for Cancer--Germanium", ISBN 0533071410; and "Killing Cancer", ISBN 0705000966.
Type 'used books' into your browser and find a good site, then type in the ISBN numbers and get some great help cheap.
I know of people whose cancer has 'spontaneously remitted' (WENT AWAY for no known reason) after they went on a program of herbs and nutrition.
The American Medical Association and the pharmaceutical companies control medical law in this country, and they are in it for the money, and don't care about individuals. You and your family must look out for yourselves to stand a chance of being healthy.
This is not a joke. Look into it. Best of luck

.Total 100% cure rates for leukemia have occurred with pancreatin that was enteric coated. The method is is to take five pills every 4 hours, tapering the dose if nausea occurs. Then taking the full amount when the nausea subsides. This cure worked for all patients with every form of the disease. We are doomed with the rich doctors!!!!!

The cancer is never treated with only chemo, let alone two sessions.
You have to give it plenty of time.
A bone marrow search will be done.
If you are a match, they will extract your bone marrow with this painful, large needle and transplant the healthy marrow into her bones.
However, if you're a match, she's put into a sterile room because destroying the bone marrow = NO immune system. Rember that white blood cells attack infections, and hers are confused/mutated.
Leukemia is only "treated well" with bone marrow biopsies.
Even if the chemo were to help, there would be massive chance of relapse.

It depends on the type of cancer, and what her oncologist tells her. There are other treatments for cancer aside from chemo, so the doctor may suggest something else.
