If the patient signed the DNR form while they were competent, then it stands regardless of the famly's wishes. It is necessary to have the patient's signed consent to institute the order, unless they are unable/ incompetent, then the next of kin or legal guardian may, and only they can recind it. It is wise for families to discuss DNR and End Of Life Issues among themselves BEFORE any health emergencies arise.

if the patient was in the right state of mind when they signed the DNR i think the family should leave it alone would they wont to live on a machine if they were brain dead and have all of there family suffer watching them lay there cant do nothing leave it alone
