As mentioned earlier by the respondents, dexamethasone is used to treat inflammation and has numerous side effects.
I have taken dexamethasone as adjunct treatment to my chemotherapy for the last year and a half. The day before treatments, I took 12 tablets of dexamethasone (6 tablets 12 hours before treatment and the last 6 tablets 6 hours before treatment). On chemo day, I had several IV chemo drugs administered. I was also administered an IV dose of decadron (oral solution type of dexamethasone).
Decadron's side effects are very distinctive. You know when dexamethasone is going into the body because there is a burning sensation (feels like hundreds of ants biting) that starts with the butt (anus) and moves on up into the insides. The faster the decadron goes into your blood the faster burning sensation sets in. If you're having this problem, just ask the to have the IV dripped slowed. Or just have the nurse stop the IV drip until the burning sensation stops before continuing.
Anyways, I hope that helps.

Ask your doctor about an exercise routine. Regular exercise, such as walking three times a week, may reduce neuropathy pain, improve your muscle strength and help control blood sugar levels. Gentle routines such as yoga and tai chi might also help.
