New adjunct chemo cures twice as many people with cancer and has been shown to increase tolerance to chemo so everybody can take their medicine.
Yet, I have been attacked for posting these promising medical studies.
The medicine is real and the results are real too!
Any idea why medical professions have a negative sentiment to a new cure?

Novelos has announced positive results of a phase I/II trial of NOV-002, for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer. The drug is currently approved in Russia, where it is marketed as Glutomix. Intent-to-treat analysis indicated that 69% (11/16) of subjects receiving intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous (SC) NOV-002 in combination with chemotherapy achieved objective (complete or partial) tumor response, vs. 33% (5/15) receiving chemotherapy alone (p=0.044). Subjects receiving NOV-002 via IV and intramuscular (IM) injection plus chemotherapy experienced a non-significant 46% (6/13) objective response rate. The drug also produced improved tolerance of chemotherapy in both dosing groups, with 100% of the IV/SC and 85% of the IV/IM subjects completing 4 cycles of chemotherapy, vs. 50% of subjects receiving chemotherapy alone (p=0.004). This randomized, controlled study enrolled 44 patients, who received one of two regimens of NOV-002 (IV/SC or IV/IM) plus chemotherapy or chemotherapy alone for 6 months. The company announced plans to initiate phase II/III trials of the drug in 2006, based on these results.

With Phase II drug trial results that show standard cancer chemo is only 33% effective and that only 50% (half) the patients are incapable of tolerating standard Cancer ChemoTherapy.

I find it shocking that nobody is doing anything to save lives of people with Cancer! Trials so far show NOV-002 increases patients tolerance to chemtherapy so that 100% (all) the patients could tolerate the standard chemo yet Docotrs are stalling and attacking my posts. I have even wrote letters to doctors with the results and the new drug trials available of NOV-002 to save lives. Yet, I have not received a single reply!

You have forgotten that cancer is not one disease but over 200 different diseases that is complicated by grade of tumor and stage of disease. Not all cancer is treated the same way, it is pretty much individualized according to the health of the patient and their age. I looked over this particular drug and found no evidence that indicated that it would help my sons rare, aggressive abdominal sarcoma. I doubt we would try it anyway since he is currently on chemo that is known to be effective and in which he has had significant response.

NOV-002 is being tested in cases of non-small cell lung cancer and ovarian cancer. There are many, many other chemotherapy drugs that already work . . its only when those stop working or have a negative impact that doctors will seek out other types of treatment including drugs in clinical trials.

I don't know if you have cancer or not, but most people who are online support groups discuss all the available treatments including the clinical trials. Those who have non-small cell lung cancer and ovarian cancer and their oncologists are probably aware of this drug already. I don't think anyone has dismissed it.

If you are interested in using or participating in a clinical trial to test the effectiveness of this particular drug against your type of cancer discuss this with your oncologist.

I have done some research. You are correct that Novelos is a legitimate investigational drug. However, this is NOT the forum to be promoting it. This is a board to get questions answered. That's what people including myself have a problem with.

One other thing. It is irresponsible to call this drug a cure. It currently stands as an investigational treatment. Even the statements you posted show it is not a cure. Tumor response and tolerance to chemotherapy are not remission much less a cure.

What is your stake in Novelos? I researched it on the web and it hardly seems like a miracle drug. It may be effective but, from what I've read it doesn't come anywhere close to the effectiveness of certain targeted therapies for certain malignancies.

The medical industry is not concerned with your health. It's all about money.
