Could someone please tell me how long the HIV virus can survive for outside the body?

I am a young adult who still gets strep throat a lot (sigh...both of my parent shad their tonsils removed but the doctors these days say that's not necessary). I used to live in France where this infection is very common and the doctors always gave me amoxocillin without doing a swab (and it got better). Now I live in India where this kind of thing is usually taken care of by the pharmacist. I asked for amoxocillin and they told me to take 500mg/3 times a day for 5 days. However, my doctors in France always prescribed a 10-day course. I don't want to stop too soon, even if the pharmacists say I can (fyi I am an adult and weigh about 55 kilos which is about 122 pounds so I am of the right size and age to take normal doses). Thanks!

Ok I was recently diagnosed with HPV, (genital warts), which I am confused on because its been about 5 years since my last sexual encounter. I was told that 80% of sexually active people have them by the time they are 50. I'm in my early 30s, male, and have had a few sex partners(although I can't say the same for them-neither one had a clue what it meant to be faithful), this is the first time anything like this has ever happened to me.
I am being treated with Aldara to get rid of the warts but I've also read that they do come back, and that there is no cure for the HPV virus. Does this mean I will be contagious for the rest of my life?

My mother died on Sunday and she refused to participate in a clinical trial involving chemotherapy after trying it for 6 weeks. The doctor strongly suggested that she continue even though she gave it a 2% chance of it working. My mom said that one week after quitting it, she felt great whereas during the therapy, she said it felt like every cell in her body was sick and she felt like leaping out of it. By the way, after quitting she received a bill from the trial and was informed that only the "medicine" was free.
