I don't have a root cellar : ). I live in a small apartment and I notice that garlic, onions and potatoes don't last very long before they begin getting soft, etc. Refrigerating them doesn't seem to help. Any advice?

I am just wondering how many people say regular. is this the most popular selection? Because all the coffee shops...well almost...know what regular is..two creams and two sugars in reg coffee..ice or hot...Dunkin Donuts #1..then Honey Dew and then Krispy cream and then Starbucks and then maxwell house coffee singles... :) I like coconut, toasted almond, vanilla, mocha and regular. :) at home i have it black..funny as it is...thats the only time i drink black..when I order it out.I drink it with cream and sugar... silly me.. ;) I prefer Ice coffee but hot coffee after a meal or with donut or in the early morning.

Today, I opened a package of Oscar Mayer bacon which had "America's Favorite" on the label. I take this to mean that statistically it's the largest supplier of bacon in this country. I like certain brands like; Gwaltney, Smithfield, Plumrose, etc., but I bought the Oscar Mayer because it cost only two bucks during this week's sale! Do they take a poll and the largest number of respondents actually said that Oscar mayer is their favorite, or are they simply extrapolating the favorite status based on sales volume? For example: Americans buy more Camry's than any other car therefore it is their choice, statistically. Maybe they sell 200 thousand in a year, but if you asked Americans, perhaps fifty million of them would rather have a Ferrari or Porsche. Wouldn't that make the Ferrari or Porsche America's favorite and not the Camry, which they buy because of it's affordability and practicality. I've seen this type of claim on numerous products, and it seems misleading. Your take?

I saw something about coupons on Good Morning America today and was curious. Do you use coupons a lot? Do you think they are worth it. I think they sometimes try to get you to buy more with the help of a coupon, and sometimes you really save nothing.

I have had this strange look from a coworker when I said I eat food I prepare and refrigerate for one week...then I throw it away. I made some home made chili and refrigerate it for a week. He started a whole thing about me going to be sick and such. Now I have worked in restaurants during my 20s and we used to refrigerate precooked food for weeks...as long as the temperature does not increase...you should be fine. PLus McDonalds and Burger King refrigerate everything...even salads! And believe me they keep those foods there and sell them. My coworker does like fastfoods and when I told him they refrigerate everything for weeks he said its not true LOL. He thinks its all fresh, out of the cow or chicken...Thoughts?

While you're typing your answer, someone else answers with a shorter answer that is basically the same as yours? I hate it when that happens.

I have recently tried homemade potato salad with potatoes, carrots, celery, onions, crunchy radishes, green olives, and hard-boiled eggs put all together with Hellman's mayo. It was delicious.
