... and yet I have seen it recommended for 'little' jobs like working with garlic, herbs, dicing ...

...how is it superior to a long plain Western knife ... ?

I can see for hacking apart chicken it would be good, especially jointing it, but other than that, what larger tasks
does it do well?

**** what is a meat cleaver used for?
**** and a boning knife, please?

thank you ever so much ... have a lovely day!

I've always wondered the point of animal testing...won't animals have different reactions then humans do to products? Is there an alternative to animal testing?

Yea, I know, this is a really random question, but I would really like to know the answer lol. It seems that a lot of people love to eat chicken wings. Personally, I don't care for them b/c they're mostly fat and no meat. Do people like them just because everyone else eats them? lol

Ok, this is going to sound really crazy but please bear with me. Me and my friends are making a video about killer vegetables for my friends birthday! We have to kill the vegetables at the end. So far we have an aubergine being toasted by a hobnob who thinks it is a raison. (he is trying to make fruit toast but unfortunately ends up with a toasted aubergine!!) The pumpkin is being made into pumpkin pie and the brocolli is getting sucked up by the hoover after thinking it was its mum. Now here is the problem. We need a good FUNNY way to kill off the mushroom! Any ideas would be apppreciated!

thanks!!

ps. i am mentally stable!!

My brother is getting married end of June, we had this talk of what kind of wine he should serve. He doesn't want to spend a fortune since he has 300 guest. I suggested "2 buck chuck" aka charles shaw. He said that might be tacky. What kind of wine would you serve for under $10? What kind of red wine is good? I like cabernet savignon or pinot noir, but he think merlot is more to other people flavor. What about white wine?

I'm veggie and don't eat dairy but do eat eggs. I think I've just got into a bit of a 'food rut' and I need some new ideas!

Thanks

Like Scrapple and Blue crabs. Is that really THAT strange? Where are you from and what are some of the weird regional things that are popular in your area?

Hello all

I recently got involved in reading more about animals and slaughter houses etc and decided to go vegetarian. However since I just started I am not calling myself anything until I am completely doing it.
This is the question for people that became vegetarian. Since I started (not eating any red meat, chicken or fish) I’m getting headaches, kind of like a metal or weird taste in my mouth. I also been pretty regular, having way more bowel movements than normal and is weird because I am eating less than before. My stomach was aching a little bit. But somehow now looking at meat gives me just a gross feeling. Not sure why I have been eating meat all my life. I guess after seen all I saw about animas is pretty hard to eat it again.
Are these normal things?

thanks

I have a cake business and I sell custom cakes from 8" simple cakes to 4 tiered cakes. I never know how much to charge. I know I should base pricing mostly on the time it takes to make & decorate the cakes, but it would take anywhere from 3 hours to a week of preparation & practice. That being said, I can't charge by an approximate hourly rate. Plus, since I'm a home based business, my supplies are still pretty costly since I don't have the space to store a lot of inventory.
Any ideas? I just don't want to continuously lose money or undercharge for my services. I'm new to this and don't really know what to do.
I made up a spreadsheet that tells me how much each cake costs, as well as what the filling costs, cake boards, dowels, etc. What else should I be doing to figure out correct and fair prices?

Thank you!
