Yes, except hamburger. It's said that most meat has e-coli, but since only hamburger is ground, the e-coli gets all over it and it needs to be cooked thoroughly to kill the germ. Steaks only get it on the outside, so searing it will resolve the problem.

Although safe, even restaurants have that disclaimer on the menu about serving steaks or meats rare....so it must be something to it.......but I guess pink is not exactly red....

Salmonella and Listeria are often found in red meat but are killed when cooked at proper temperatures. Red meat can be eaten rare if prepared right. White meat (chicken and poultry) should NEVER be eaten rare.

If it is a steak it is fine but ground beef needs to be cooked well, no pink
