Can one accept a relationship based on friendship & common beliefs alone. Or does attraction actually play a part & is a prerequisite to a successful loving relationship. If so how does one learn to become affectionate with someone who is obviously a decent person but that you feel nothing for. I feel this is my last chance

I was driving and say a sign on a jacked up pickup truck that read "Flash Me it's flash friday" I thought what kind of a girl just flashes a strainger that has the nerve to put a sign in the window like that. Here it is my bf's mom hates me she ,dress very sluttish,has 3 tattoos and told my bf she doesn't like me.He told me because he said that if someone didn't like him he would want to know.She really likes several of his ex girlfriends but not me his new gf.She told him that I am not his usually type.She doesn't like that I am so serious about life.By serious about life stuff like knowing that I want to go to college and become a lawyer,etc.Not serious like getting married.We are in hs.One of his good friends pointed out that to his mom good people give off bad vibes and bad people give off good vibes.I asked my bf on a scale of 1-10 how much it matters and he said 5 and that it doesn't matter that much.I mean I have never been anything but respectful to his mom ,plus she has only met me like 3 times andd only 1 of those times she really got to talk to me.The times I've been at my bf's house we have never done anything remotely inapporiate.ideas on getting her to like me,does it matter.
