Depends on the situation. I'm a fairly old fashioned guy, what some might consider in new terminology "retrosexual", meaning while I am not a complete neandrethal, I generally lean towards the classic manisms as opposed to the new "I need to moisturize 3 times a day and make sure I manicure before I go on dates" kind of guy of today.
There are a few particular situations when I have cried and thought it to be perfectly alright, but I am an emotional camel. I don't cry easily. Funerals, weddings, family deaths, births, breakups, so on and so forth, none of it gets me crying, but then all of a sudden something will get to me, and I just can't help but shed a tear or two.
IT's totally normal, as long as you're not bawling like a baby every 5 second (See Nick Lechey), or over non-issues

I think it's ok in your situation to cry since it sounds like you're still feeling something there, but the relationship is no longer there. A true man is not afraid of their own emotions. However, if you cry at every Pampers commerical or De Beers commerical, then you're being a wuss.

of course your not weak. believe it or not *looks around*, *whispers* my boyfriend has cried stating that he missed me after being away for two weeks on business. i thought that was the sweetest thing to see. he's the most macho man i know...but on the inside he's a very sensitive person. i just love that about him. he's a biker guy that has tattoos from one end to the other. he looks like your sterotypical biker...but don't let his deadly stare fool you. ;)
your not a wuss and don't u ever tolerate anyone telling you that. don't worry your "normal" as far as i'm concerned.

there isn't anything weak about a man who cries. It shows he has emotions and a great heart. Nope you weren't being a wuss. Yes, it's okay. I admire you.

once you say mentally sturdy, do you recommend in the experience of "stand for some thing or fall for something"? somebody who's disciplined and principled? could mentally vulnerable be somebody who's particularly swayed-- unable to stand as much as being stimulated by ability of others? what's your opinion?

No, it means he cares and trusts you so much he is willing to expose himself completely to you, OR it means that he is trying to be emotionally controlling. Since you are posting this, though I would say it is because you love her and were showing her your true feelings. There is nothing wrong with that. Men do cry. I hope it works out for you and she appreciates you.

well if he cries because his ice cream cone fell on the ground or because he is watching "beaches" he's a major wuss. if he cries because his house burned down, well, then i guess that's ok. does that help?

It's fine for a guy to cry. I actually think it makes them more of a man because they are not afraid to show their emotions.

It's ok for a man to cry, depending on the situation.
However, it's never ok for a man to call himself "Baby Cub." Ick.
