It definitely matters because if the mom don't like you the more that your not around your boyfriend the more the mom is filling your boyfriends head with crap if you didn't do anything wrong...so my suggestion on making her like you would be do a big favor for her or get her something nice or maybe even have a conversation with her about a problem...if this don't work I don't know what will.

first go to collage!!! no matter how much you like this boy or any other.I hate to sound like an old fart but if you want to get ahead in this life a collage education won't hurt, I went back to collage after my divorce at the age of 30+ because I thought I love a girl and got a job so we could have a place of our own BIG MISTAKE. Back to bf mom don't worry about it I hate all my daughter bf at first

She feels threatened by you. I think serious in this case means that you are intelligent, and she feels uneasy about that.
Were your bf's other gf's not as intelligent? She might be more comfortable with the others because there was no chance of her son being with someone who was sensitive and intelligent.
Mom doesn't want to be shown up with her faults and insecurities. Try to be nice to her, remember, she is a hurting person, but we all find it easier to show anger instead of hurt and fear, which is what the anger always masks.

Well if I could ask, why do U expect her to like you, when you sound like you don't like her, with the comments you made about her dressing sluttish, and have tats. so what., I have a tat, and if people don't like it, oh well, too bad. Sounds like you need to grow up a little and realize that not everyone is gonna like you and not to let it bother you. If it don't bother your bf, then well just leave it be.. Who cares.. ya know..

well ya know as a parent of a 17 year old. I can't say that I have not liked any of his girlfriends. I can say that a few have made me crazy with the toying with his emotions. But as a mother I chose not to get involved with his decision making as far as girlfriends are involved. I think your bf's mother should let her son decide if he likes you. Not to please his mother. From what you have described of her, she sounds immature anyway. I think you should show her respect and kindness. She will have no choice but to like you... ;)... Heck don't sweat it.. if he cares about you , he will not let his mother ruin his relationship with you.. keep your chin up ... good luck

You could do the dishes there or something that would make her smile. I know my mother in law really needd help with cleaning and I use to clean her house all the time. She grew to be fond of me . Bless her heart... she passed away 2 years ago , and still I miss her. But I am glad we got to be close when she was alive. She excepted me.

Ask yourself this: Do you prefer being loved by your b/f or liked by your mother-in-law?
Who will you spend time with? Does it make any difference?
Yes, it would be preferable if she were more into you but there's nothing you can do except be yourself. So, do just that and maybe she'll realize you're 10 times better than any of his other g/f.

ok what i would do is tell your boyfriend straight out. tell him that if you were in his shoes that even though your family is important to you, if you are with someone you realy like and there is nothing wrong with that person, and that person makes you happy, that you would tell your parents that you are still going to see this person cause you are good for eachother. that you would tell them that you could see if this person was a bad disrespectful person then you would let that person go ,but that in this case you would not let them persuade you into leaving this person when there is nothing bad about them. iff someone realy likes or loves a person they would do this for you. just tell him that he needs to make up his mind, stay with you and tell his parents not to be disrespectful, or leave you cause what they say matters more than what is right. good luck.

just give it time . my bf's mom didn't like me at first and then she got to know me better and we really get along now. she even told me straight out " i didn't like you when i first met you" . just be yourself and after a while if she still doesn't like you all that should matter is if your bf likes you.

You r doing nothing wrong!!!!!!! There is something wrong with her judgement. Don't worry about it if ur bf loves u he will stay with u. This doesn't matter it is just one opinion. Not everyone is going to approve of your relationship. Stay strong. Good luck and God bless!!!!!!!!!!
