Friends - February 2007

The internet revealed no help what-so-ever. A person that I care very deeply about has started hanging out with a known drug user. I dont want to seem demanding or controlling, but she has been going through some hardships in her life right now, shes on anti-depressents and shes been dealing with alot of crap at home right now. Shes done drugs before when she lived in the UK and I fear that she might try it again here in canada. How can I tell so I can get her help, or stop her?

everyone of my friends are pairing up with another friends and I feel like I am being left out in the dust. I had a friend and we got kinda close but now she is leaving me in the dust to go with another friends. I have talked to her about it and she says she will try and not do that. I have talked to her about this a few times. It has got to the point where I feel invisible and my brother has become my best friend. what should i do?, leave them or try and work it out?

Ok see I made this new friend and I really like her alot but my best friend told me she was just my friend because of my daddy's paycheck. I know she has dropped some of her friends because they weren't as rich as her but she seems so real to me so I don't know who to believe. I don't want to be friends with a rich, selfesh, snob.

I have an ex-guy friend we were never dating or anything eventhough he liked me. Any way we were friends for almost 4 years and he resently got mad at me 4 making him sit in the front of the class 1 day because he forgot his glasses. I just had his best interest at heart so I am upset with him for getting mad at me because of something so stupid. Just today he was talking about me to my friend when he saw us walking to class. Later he jerked out at me like he was tryin' to punk me out r somethin' and when I got mad at him and my friend was pushing me forward so I wouldn't get into trouble he had an I'm-gonna-have-fun-sabatauging-you grin on his face how should I handle his b itchy stupidity

my best friend has married someone who is a different race to her ad her family although are lovely people, are very strict and oldfashioned. she can not hide it forever and wants to tell them the truth as she will be going abroad to meet his family in 2 weeks.her mom is seriously ill and she does not wish to shock her and make her more ill but at same time she wants to tell her truth.in the meantime her partner is so so upset as he does not want any bad feelings between each other. please help as my friend is absolutely confused and scared and i think suicidal. i gave her best advice i can but i need some one who may have some good ideas to be kind enough and reply.many thanks

I have listened to this friend for months on end about her problems to the point of feeling emotionally drained. And all of a sudden she totally backstabbed me, for no reason. I have tried to talk to her but she refuses to take my calls. I feel so hurt by her behavior as I honestly did nothing wrong. In some ways I wanted out of this friendship but not this way. Now I am walking around angry and want this resolved, not to be friends again but to end the gossip she is saying about me.

One of my best friends is always sad for many reasons. We've become really close over this past year even though I've known her for 5 or 6. She comes to me all the time for help and advice. I've talked to my mom about her because she's known her for as long as I have and knows how much I hate seeing her like this. I'm so worried about her but my mom said that if I'm not careful, my friend will start bringing me down with her unintentionally. I refused to believe her and continued hanging around her, wanting to help her with everything I had. ANYWAY, over this past year, I've been feeling really down and depressed like and I've ALWAYS been a naturally happy and energized person. I didn't think about it until last night but...is my mom right? Could my friend be bringing me down in her sadness with her? If so...what can I say or do without hurting her or making her feel worse about herself. She already puts herself down on a daily basis. Any thoughts or advice?? Please and thank you..

I'm 16 and go to high school in England. I witnessed an assault on a friend a while ago and im due to appear in court soon. The guy who did it has found out the names of the witnesses and he's been asking questions round school trying to find out about me. If we got in a fight I'd stand a good chance of winning one on one but he's always got a gang of cronies with him. He's also the type who finds it fun to carry knifes and he has connections to 18-20 year olds through his brother, who have been known to hunt down anyone that wrongs him. I'm going to do the witness thing anyway but i want to know the best course of action regarding the guy. If he personally comes up to me and threatens me should i just hit him right then and there and just accept the consequences or should i try and talk my way out of it. I can't afford to waste the time it takes to press charges if anything happens with GCSE's coming up and i don't want to jeopardise my value as a witness.
Whats the best way?

ok well i had a really bad day today because these guys were making fun of my last name which is pretty gay because its not like i can choose my name...and this other girl called me fat even though shes bigger then me and i know shes just insecure. but i know stuff like this wouldnt bother people but little things bother me and ruin my day. what do you suggest i do that will help me concentrate on my homework and off my bad day? thanks in advance!

she is fourteen and has been talking to this person she met on the internet over myspace! I've checked out his profile and all of his user images are popular "emo boy pics" that are posted all over the internet and most of them are taken from vampirefreaks.com. she comments him about "banging him" and kissing and other things and how she really wants to be with him! I assumed that she would have the common sense to ignore him but now I'm wondering if she's thinking about really meeting him!

i know this is an obvious "TELL HER PARENTS" but I really don't want her to be upset with me for telling her parents and not trusting her judgement. should i wait to see if she says anything about meeting him or stop it before it arises??

have this guy..who flirts with me but he never really made an actual move, I know for a fact that he's an insecure guy.. there was one instance where he told me to call him if I ever wanted to hang out or go to a movie.. and there was another time where he asked me WHO I spent my holidays with, and on top of that he's always questioning me about how come I'm always leaving when he comes and talk to me... so I thought well he told me to call him if i ever wanted to hang out..so I made the first move and asked him to hang out.He told me that he would like to but it would have to be in a couple of weeks because he is broke....so I called him yesterday..and told him i was going to starbucks and if he wasn't busy after work, he could join, me he told me that starbucks sounds good, however today wouldn't be too good since he's busy, and that we would have to meet up sometime next week..then I asked him if he wasn't interested would he tell me? He said quote on quote "that we can meet up

i've known my best friend for 12yrs, i've known him since we were 8yrs old and we're practicly brothers since were so close, but for the past two years i've been getting these serious feelings of envy towards him becuase he's in a serious relationship and i've never had been in a relationship at all. my envy became worst when he starts talking about her all the time and we hang out less and forget sometimes when we had something planned days or a week in adavnced i get stood up becuase he with her then tries to call me telling me he's sorry, he forgot. sometimes i don't even speak to him when he calls to hang out becuase my envy won't let me. just seeing them together makes me wish i had someone in my life. i feel like im being im being put on the back burner. how do i deal with this feeling before it gets really out of hand. i don't wanna lose the friendship over my envious ways.

My friend or so called. has decided to distance herself but states its nothing personal just something she has to do. Bearing in mind this is the second time. after the first time things were fine as i let it go, but this time its been so obvious and taken me texting her and asking what is wrong with her to find out that she has chosen to do this. I replied by saying she cannot just choose when she wants to be in someones life and when she f's off whenever it suits her especially with no warning and it shows a lack of respect. now im not sure what to do if she wishes to once again be "friends"
