Some people say the eyes are a gateway to the soul and others say handshakes say a lot when meeting people for the first time. So, what do hugs say? Would you be able to tell whether someone cared for you a lot by the way he/she hugged you?

I try to introduce him amoung my friends, however he's everytime out of conversation. (just listening them)

I love him very much and he's very funny & esprit man when he's very relax with just me. I wonder why people can't understand REAL him.

Ok I need some help and I need it ASAP! My best friend/roommate/boyfriend's birthday is Wednesday. He's turning 30. I need a gift idea.
We live in Southern California. He actually just moved here from Texas about 6 months ago - he's a newbie.
He's BIG into sports (Loves Texas football)- cooking - fishing/outdoor stuff. He likes traveling and visiting new places and seeing new things.
He was in the military and enjoys books/movies that have to with military/history/documentary stuff.

I want to get him a gift that he'll really like and it will mean something.

Any ideas?

Would you feel offended if your (supposed) best friend spent $300 dollars on somebody for their birthday, but then got you nothing at all. After 8 years of friendship, when you usually spend around $100-200 on them?

So resently, My girlfreind found on myspace most of the old people she knew from the town she used to live in. She got really excited, becuase she said she will be able to talk with her old friends. I found this kind of weird cuz when i lose touch with some one I just normally don't care, unless I was really good friends with them. but it wasn't just good friends she was excited about it was everybody she knew. SO is this a girl thing or am I the one that is weird?

I live in Japan, and the friendships I have here with other foreigners face many unique pressures. It can be sooo lonely here, that you can depend TOO much on just one or two English speaking people for ALL your friendship needs. I have had a 'best friend' the whole time (same company, same starting time) and we've been through everything together (hospital, travel, break ups, illnesses, homesickness, loneliness, you name it.) The thing is, we are so different, that we fight A LOT. But we love each other heaps. We usually resolve our fights, but this time, I feel so hurt, I don't know what to do. She said she wanted some distance between us, that I 'wouldn't NEED her so much in Australia,' etc. The thing is, she said these things so COLDLY, it hurt heaps. Because she said it coldly, does that mean she doesn't feel much about the friendship anymore? She ALWAYS wants control. Is this just another way to control me?

I know this is silly, but I am having this debate with a friend. We have probably all heard someone say "Oh no, I would break your legs." or something like that when offerd a lap to sit on, maybe you have said it yourself. But, is it really possible?
We usually do not see bigger people sitting on saller people's laps - is it actually dangerous?
Is your answer based on opinion, or do you have evidence or experience to support it?

I have been having dreams about this girl Michelle who used to be a friend of mine. We became friend when I was about 15 and she was 16. We hung out all the time and did stupid **** together, like smoking pot drinking and other drugs. She never really grew up. She wanted to get messed up all the time on meth and esctasy, when she was18 she got pregnant and had a daughter emily. She was a really terrible mother, she drank did drugs and lost custody of emily when a mysterious house fire happened emily was badly burned. She turned around a little bit and had two more children and I had one. She got into a bad relationship with the father of one of her children and things turned... her children were living in FILTH with drugs all over the place. I ended up calling cps on her, I could not let the same thing that happened to emily happen to those babies. It was hard she found out it was me and we haven't talked in over a year. Why am I still dreaming about her? I have been for a year! Help!
