Does anyone know how to interpret dreams?

Question

I have been having dreams about this girl Michelle who used to be a friend of mine. We became friend when I was about 15 and she was 16. We hung out all the time and did stupid **** together, like smoking pot drinking and other drugs. She never really grew up. She wanted to get messed up all the time on meth and esctasy, when she was18 she got pregnant and had a daughter emily. She was a really terrible mother, she drank did drugs and lost custody of emily when a mysterious house fire happened emily was badly burned. She turned around a little bit and had two more children and I had one. She got into a bad relationship with the father of one of her children and things turned... her children were living in FILTH with drugs all over the place. I ended up calling cps on her, I could not let the same thing that happened to emily happen to those babies. It was hard she found out it was me and we haven't talked in over a year. Why am I still dreaming about her? I have been for a year! Help!

I want to talk to her but I know that she would not want to talk to me. I really didn't feel like losing her friendship meant that much but obviously my subcouncious is telling me different. There was one girl Jen who called cps on her with emily and she vowed to beat her if she ever saw her. The children went into custody after the 2nd cps call from someone else and chances are because of her past she will have a very hard time getting them back. But with Emily she didn't even fight to get her back. She basically signed away custody. I feel like I need to talk to her but I don't know what I would say.... emily was a very special girl to me, and I think about her and her other 2 boys all the time. But jeez after a year this is an un- resolved issue. I feel like I need counseling.

It's hard to interpret a dream if you don't know what the dream is but obviously - if you're dreaming about her - then your lives having crossed meant something very important in both of your lives. It is quite possible that you really need to get in touch with her for some important reason that you really don't recognize or understand. Perhaps she has come to a point in life where healing is taking place and you're a part of the process. It is possible that she may need to hear from you. You might start out just by simply being encouraging and supporting from a "I've been thinking about you and wanted to let you know that I care. How are you and your children doing?" DCFS even when they take kids away - does everything possible to reunite children with their parents whenever possbile. Perhaps things have improved for her and she has you to thank? I could be off base - but if you're dreaming about her - it does mean that you have true concern for her and her children and regardless of how she might respond to you - it could be the right time to reconnect.

Well for one, I think you did the right thing about calling cps. I know some say to take 3 important factors in your dream and write them down. Circle the MOST important factor then name 3 words that define that factor. Circle the most important word tat really sticks out and then name 3 words explaining your feelings for that word. Continue this about 2 more times. Then look at your paper and take a good hard look at each circled word. THis should give you some idea about whats going on in your life. Possible it isn't any thing to even do with your old friend but something actually happening in your life subconciously.

Let me take a stab at this.

I would guess that in some way you feel responsible for all that has happened to her. Perhaps you are a "nuturer" type of personality and you really want to help her - and maybe have tried - but, she still seems to make little progress. Even calling the cops on her may be a way of reaching out to her in an effort to help turn things around. Your unconscious mind doesn't have to deal with her during your waking hours, but your natural nurturing personality comes out when you are asleep and tries to resolve her problems for her.

Well my own interpretation of thi sdream is that you are scared that the things that are happening to michelle will happen to you.
And you might be having guilt feelings about what you did. (like calling the cops and Michelle finding out it was you)
I think this dream is reminding you to talk to michelle. so that you can explain yourself and let michelle explain herself and finally put a lid on it... so that you can go on with your life, and she can start rebuilding hers.
