Friends - August 2006

Ok I live in Iowa and Im moving 2 texas August 29th for the Air Force, and in 2 days August 3rd Im goin on vacation to nebraska to visit family and from there a flight leaves for california on the 8th. Then I come back to Iowa for like a week and then Im gone in the Air force, and so that means I have like 2 days to spend time with friends and I feel like I don't wanna talk to ne of them, is this normal? Should I just go and hangout with them? Will it make me feel better, but also most of my friends drink and do drugs,and I just like Im already gone when Im still here, and I can't be around that stuff!!

y do people write rude comments instead of answers? if u dont wana help someone and really answer their question just leave them alone. it seems like if someone is feeling bad about anything people will just say something rude trying to make u feel worse. do they do this to make themselves feel better or what?? i just dont understand.

My roommate graduated with a BA in Criminal Justice back in December. She worked for a few months afterwards and then decided to quit and take a month off, then find a 'real' job (i.e. a career). She looked a little after that first month and then it kind of burned out. Her parents support her and were supposed to cut her off of fund on her 23rd bday (June 13th) but they have yet to do that.
Every single day all she does is sit around, swim, or hang out with her boyfriend that makes good money to spoil her and encourage her not to work or look into a job
How long until my other roommate and I get involved? We are thinking about email her mom to see what she thinks and to give her the real scoop on what her daughter is doing with her life. Should we do anything? We don't want to confront her and just end up pushing her away and to her boyfriend.

Advice, please!!

here's what happened:

--me & her were bridesmaids for a h.s. friend's wedding
--she tried to save $$ by getting dress made behind my back
--when me & the maid of honor decided on a dress, she tried to make me get my dress made too...but turned out she didn't have any say in the fabric or color and didn't even get permission from the bride!
-i tried to get her to explain, but she wouldn't.. and then she mysteriously backed out, giving weak excuses
-i had to do all the dress stuff alone, make arrangements, spend $$$, and fly to the wedding alone across the country
-i was not happy w/ her, but i didn't try to end the friendship. later on, however, she thought that i was purposely leaving her out (well she wasn't exactly my best friend anymore u know?) and wrote me a HATE MAIL.. complete with "I never want to speak to you again"

Question: should i consider forgiving and forgetting and trying to be friends w/ her again, or is it not worth it?

We are four young women sharing a house, 3 of us are from basically the same background, and the other one is just one nasty piece of work! She is 21 but acts like a 14yr old, is very confrontational, doesnt listen to reason... or even give you a chance to state your case after she has made her own assumptions about certain situations. no-one speaks to her anymore, as she has managed to alienate herself from the rest of us in order to play the victim in a scenario that she herself created. The 3 of us refuse to entertain or be taken by her very frequent temper-tantrums, and really just laugh at her for being so immature and rediculous. We pay her our share of the sateliteTV every month, and now she has disconnected our satelite out of spite! She also tells twisted tales to our very sweet & kind neighbour who seems to fall for her frequent lies of being victimised by us! she is inconsiderate,rude& hell-ishly bitchy! how do we get our SatTV back!!! Help!!

Oh k, so one day i was talking on the phone to my best friend and it was a really boring conversation so i told her that i would call her tommorow at 6, she said ok and we hung up. Then that day, I called her at 7 and no one answered, i was a little late getting home. And she never called me back and i know that she has caller id. And then today I called her at 6 and I know that she gets out of practice at 5 so she should have been home and she only lives 20 minutes away from the school. Do you think that she still wants to be my friend?

My friend only likes to talk about members of the band that we like, and if she isn't talking about that, then she's complaining about something or someone. I try to ignore her and change the subject to talk about meaningful things, but she always brings it back to the band members, or the people she can't stand. Either that or she gives me one worded answers or just smiles. How can I deal with this?

my friend girl has been having sex with her best friend for as long as he's been in a relationship with his girlfriend. she recently told me about it and asked for my opinion. i told her she's willfully accepting the title of "the other woman". she got mad and told me that i just don't understand the bond she and her best friend have. i don't disagree there, but was i wrong for saying she's the other woman?
