Fact of life: If he isn't into you, then pushing will cause the friendship to end but you won't really be happy anyway because you'll always want more.
Another Fact of life: Guys and Girls are rarely just friends. One or both ALWAYS wants more! A straight man and a straight woman are rarely ever just friends because there is usually something that attracted them to each other to start a conversation in the first place.
I've had a friend that liked me back once. The other 4 times: 2 times I like him more. 2 times they liked me more and I couldn't even get my mind to even go there if I tried!

Well i had the same problem years ago all i can tell you is follow your instincts cause my best guy friend we were best friends for 8 years and i still consider him my friend but for the longest time i just wanted to be with him i thought he knows what makes me happy he knows what makes me sad he knows what will cheer me up he made me feel as though i were beautiful even though i didn't think so and i thought to myself why not but then i never did ask him or tell him how i felt cause i kept feeling well if i do and it doesn't work then we might dislike each other and i will lose my best friend so i never did threw hints here and there but i never told him really how i felt so i went on with my life and got married and had a kid and still wonder well what would of happened if i had told him and then i got the news that he chose to be gay really i think bi-sexual but same difference to me so i think well if i had told him and we had gotten together then maybe wouldn't have turned gay but god knows what is best for us all and he lets things happen the way there suppose to so what i am saying is i would pray about it and ask god to lead you the if it is meant for you and your friend then he is going to give you the courage to tell him and talk to him about it and just let things fall into place and i am not trying to start this big religious conversation but god has done so much for me and my family that i have to say hey the things that happen in my life yeah i have a choice in it but he is in control of it so follow your heart if you are lead to let your friend know how you feel then do it but if not i would just remain friends. I hope i was able to help. and if you choose to tell him diffentilly wait until he brakes up with the other girl cause that will only cause you grieve and heart ach.

You are doing the right thing; with only one exception, talk to him about your feelings. Done force the issue. Patience is a Virtue, in this be virtuous. Tell him you will wait, and be there for him. The results will be truly amazing. Great things come to those who wait. All you have to ask yourself is > Is he worth waiting for? If he is, and he's having problems with his current girl, then he will see the benefit of leaving her for you.
However this will cause the two of you some anguish, as feelings will need to mend, on the part of the ex-girlfriend to be.
It all in the communication of intentions. Tell him you'll wait. Then wait and see.

SAME PROBLEM
He's not my best friend, buts he's efinetily up there.
Its hard..but if you both have feeling for each other it should be no porblem and your friendship will survive-you have to be friend before you can be anything else.you know he likes you-so make a move ask him if you two should and can take it to the next level-beyond friendship.I have the same problem and waited too long..now its too late..make a move and do it fast.yoiu never know what will happen.call him up and see what happenes-oh yeah major tip:ask him to break up with his gf first.but make sure its cuz he wants to too and not ust cuz you said so.try to convince him!I'll wish you good luck if you or somebody wiskes me good luck ;)

Since you guys are so close believe me he probably wants you. No guy wants to be just friends with a girl, but if they care about the girl then they settle for friendship. Tell him you like him if he is planning on breaking up with his GF. Say "I have a good reason for you to break up with your GF ASAP, because I like you and want to be more than friends."
He will probably want you. If he doesnt assume he is gay, seriously.

Maybe you guys should just sit down and ask each other how you feel, i mean if he's not a guy that gets intimidated easily, you should. i mean he's your friend right and maybe at first it would be weird but you guys sound like a perfect match to me.

It depends on his situation with his g/f at that time. Just be his friend if he is available and interested he may just kiss you good bye again.
