Why is it that so many people use the movie "An Inconvenient Truth" as an authoritative example of Global Warming? It has been shown by scientists to be inaccurate, sensational, and mostly propaganda. On top of that, it is a MOVIE! You do not write a book report on Tom Sawyer by watching the movie, you cannot learn how to hotwire a car, rob a bank, build a bomb, or win the lottery by watching movies, even though all these things are depicted in movies. Do people really think they can go visit the treasure room shown in the movie "National Treasure?"

Am I the only person that finds this hilarious?

We always hear events being blamed on man made global warming.

Floods are caused by global warming
Droughts are caused by global warming
Ice is melting at the edges, but growing in the center is consistent with the theory of man made global warming.
Warm is because of man made global warming and the cold can be explained by global warming as well.

It seems like we can only look back to explain things that already happened to show man made global warming is happening.

If we know this much about the climate, why are we unable to know what global warming will do in our near future? Wouldn't this be a good test of the computer models?

Why are the ice caps melting on mars? other plantet are showing a increase in temps. Sattelite data infers the 4 of the 10 hottest years where in the 1930's, Is the co2 causing that?

I suggest its cause mostly by the sun going thru one of its hotter cycles, I aso suggest its a way to get a global tax, in order to control countries and their future.

This video from NASA satellites shows the rapid retreat of a glacier.

There are many other examples of how warming is effecting the Earth. Although the cause is still not fully understood if the scientists think that we are the most likely, probable and obvious cause then why don’t we act.

The U.S. needs to ensure that its armed forces receive sufficient funding. While funding levels should be determined by needs and requirements, they could be established at 4 percent of GDP without harming the U.S. economy.

Im doing this project where i have to come up with new ideas to help in gobal warming. it doesnt have to proven or anything. i just need a valid approach where there is a logic to it. like while mowing the lawn, the cut grass goes to the bag and then it will go through some process, then it will transform to be a biofuel so it uses it. so it saves of fuel. i would use that example, but someone already using it. can you help me please? thank you very much. greatly appreciatte.

So you know how an air ionizer purify air, more or less takes out polution in a small basis right? what if we put the air ionizer in the car's catalytic converter so when CO2 comes out of the engine or the car, it'll be less pollutant, thus we're doing something to save the earth from global warming? what do you think?

Scientists talk about the effects of global warming and everything and say it is getting worse, but how fast? Do you think it is happening fast enough so that when I am older, I should not have a child, as that child could be affected badly by global warming during their life time?

Or will it take alot longer than that?

Thank you very much.

The standard label for those who accept the anthropogenic global warming (AGW) theory has become 'Alarmists'.

Reading a review of a new book (Six Degrees: Our Future on a Hotter Planet) on RealClimate, the issue was raised as to whether 'Alarming' is a more appropriate label than 'Alarmist'.

http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2007/11/six-degrees/

Is someone who makes alarming predictions automatically an alarmist? For example, is a doctor who tells you that smoking is increasing your chances of contracting lung cancer by a certain percentage an alarmist?

It seems to me that 'Alarmist' is an appropriate label for someone who is intentionally inflating the dangers of a risk like global climate change. This would not be applicable to anthropogenic global warming. Whether or not you believe the science, the evidence does indicate that global warming poses potentially alarming dangers.

What do you think about the labels 'Alarmism' vs. 'Alarming' in this context?

As within a microwave oven, microwave radiation causes molicules to vibrate and heat up. Gobal warming has seamingly increased in the last 30 years, around the same time we have been sending more satilates into space for mobile communications, radio dishes and mobile phone masts, and Wi fi. Pigeons flying in the path of radio dishes can be instantly cooked, so with all these's signals and radio waves, there must have an effect, in heating up the atmosphere.
