It's called hypocrisy - "Do as I say, not as I do".

Purchasing "credits" to offset their carbon footprint? Sorry, but that's crap. If he's truly concerned, he'd ditch his 10,000 sq ft. mansion and move into something more modest that uses less energy and leaves a smaller footprint.

Face it, when you're rich, you can live your high and mighty lifestyle without changing your actual way of living or standard of life - because you can afford to throw surplus cash toward planting a tree or some other manner to "offset" your personal carbon footprint. The rest of us? Well, we don't have the expendible income to throw at "feel good" projects - so if we want to make a change, we have to truly change the way we live...

Read last weeks Newsweek for a blurb about Al Gore. He's now on the board of an investment company that invests in alternative energy companies. On the surface it sounds pious. But when you step back and realize he stands to make millions off of the investments sounds shady.

It does seem a bit hypocritical, but it is one of the necessary evils of todays way of doing business.

Ms. Clinton is running for another tour of the white house while Mr. Gore is polluting the air trying to teach others how not to.

I believe Mr. Gore has the best of intentions in his travels, they are not for his own gain. Nobel peace prizes are not given to just any kid who makes a movie with a video camera.

Not for his own gain? That's gonna make me choke to death laughing. That the only thing it's about

Yes he does by carbon credits or would it be more accurate to say Buys stock in his own company. (Second source if not the first)

That sounds like liberals all talk and no action. Although they may realize it is a natural cause and that we can't do anything about it.

They have to get the word out.

You have to pay for what they do. You should feel guilty that they have to pollute to save you.
