When Al talks about the ice core temperatures and CO2 concentrations, he asks if the two look like they fit together. They do but, temperatures rise first then the CO2 rises about 800 years later. So temps rise and then fall for 800 years while the CO2 continues to increase.

Question 1:
If CO2 causes temperature to rise, why do the temperatures fall for 800 years while the CO2 continues to increase?

Question 2:
Why did temperatures fall from 1945 to 1979 while the CO2 concentrations were rapidly rising?

Question 3:
What caused the .5ºC average global temperature increase from 1910 to 1940 when there was very little increase in CO2?

Feel free to reword for true / false.

Edit:
I will help you.

Question 1:
In the ice cores, temperatures fell for 800 years while the CO2 concentrations were peaking. Answer: True

Question 2:
Temperatures fell from 1945 to 1979 while the CO2 concentrations were rapidly rising. Answer: True

Question 3:
The average global temperature increased by .5ºC from 1910 to 1940 when there was very little increase in CO2.
Answer: True

Natural climate change has completely melted all the polar ice and then frozen it again more than once in the 4 billion year history of the Earth. True

Carbon dioxide levels in the air now and for hundreds of thousands of years in the past can be accurately measured by scientists. True

Scientists know for sure what has caused ice ages and other natural climate changes in the past. False

Global warming and ozone depletion are really the same environmental problem by a different name. False

Which part of the world has lost most of its forests? Name 3 (or 4 or 5 or 6) main greenhouse gases. How are Global Warming and the greenhouse effect related? What is the percentage of CO2 released for every ton (or any other measurement) of oil (or natural gas or coal, etc.)? What are the main causes of deforestation? Who first introduced the theory of Global Warming? What are fossil fuels (oil, coal, etc.) made from? How long until we run out of fossil fuels if we keep using them at the same rate that we do now? How much CO2 does a regular oak tree (select any kind of tree) absorb? How much oxygen does a regular oak tree (select any kind of tree) give out? What is the main contributer to greenhouse gases? (i.e. cars, electricity plants, etc.) At the rate that we are going, how long will it take for the worlds forests to run out? Find the answers yourself because i'm kind of lazy. sorry

i am confused by some peoples anger on this. I read through all the answers and though many vary the truth is there has been an ice age before. That is fact. i dont think people are condoning or supportive of man made global warming they are giving facts and i learned alot from just reading the answers .that makes me want to research for myself. some of you that are saying spiteful things should simmer down man.Dude we all have to share the planet

Sorry this is not a direct answer to your question, but I am just getting sick of all the answers people are leaving.

I wish people stopped going on about the cattle producing methane. If you haven't noticed, cattle are human breeded. Infact, there would be no such thing as cattle without man. They have been breeded by man, so please stop thinking of them as natural. Maybe we should all become vegetarians, if this can stop global warming. I'd prefer a veggie diet than the corruption of the human race personally.

Anyway, the point is that global warming most likely wouldn't be happening in this extreme without man on the planet. CO2 should never have reached this high density, and the future doesn't look bright.

Another point is that we aren't going to be able to use fossil fuels in the near future - they are running out. So even if man-made global warming is a 'scam', we need wind turbines to make energy in the future anyway.

Global Warming is as everyone knows caused by pllution. But there is also an odd cycle. During one period, the earth begins to cool down. then it starts to heat up. but this is only natural.

Can 'An inconvenient truth' be shown in British Schools under certain conditions?

Ice reflects solar radiation better than water (t/f),

We've heard the amount of ice in the Artic is declining, but what about in Antartica?

CO2 concentrations are believed to be at record highs (at least in the last 100,000 years).

The atmosphere is less than 0.5% CO2 (t/f)

Al Gore failed to mention in the movie that he tried instating a carbon tax a number of times while in government (t/f).

2. The Earth has had numerous ice ages. True or False?

3. For every ice age the Earth has had, there has been a warming period (global warming) afterwards. True or False?

4. Man has been responsible for every one of these "global warming" periods following each ice age. True or False?

5. In all likelihood, the cause for the current warming phase is the same as for the previous warming phases. True or False?

have a look at the question "Do you think Global warming is a natural occurance" on Yahoo answers. I think Mick t (20th question from the top) spells out what you need to a tee. It relates to your film and think what Mick says is true. Type it in, and have a look. Good luck.

In terms of making an interesting point in your quiz - not just all the old ones over and over again ( although they are important too)

I managed to completely throw a guy who came to give us a talk on climate change with this one. Its reliable too, from the FAO and UN.

Q: "Which causes more greenhouse gas emissions, rearing cattle or driving cars?"

A: "The livestock sector generates more greenhouse gas emissions as measured in CO2 equivalent – 18 percent – than transport"

I am sure you could manipulate that into a true/false Q
