i was taught in the 80s that aircon contributed to the emission of gasses that contribute to the green house effect. i would just like to know if the current technology has improved this? if not, is not using aircon something that we should really think about? the earthy is already warming up at an alarming rate. if these luxuries that we have invented for our benefit are hurting us in the long run, shouldn't we do something about them?

Or is this some way for governments to control us? Why are some scientists saying we are actually cooling down and then there are others who say the globe is warming and we are to blame? Do WE really know how to fix the problem?

Why not raise the driving age to 18? It would decrease carbon monoxide emissions, reduce vehicle accidents by FOLDS not percents, and keep minors at home where they belong. What are your ideas on this?

I'm learning about beaches in Oceanography and I was wondering why is the sand in Hunnington Beach is so much prettier and softer than any of the other beaches in California?

Well I live in California [the northern part] and I absolutely love the study of the ocean. I've been to almost every beach around California. Which is another reason why I'm going to be a marine Biologist.

But anyways Does anyone know why Hunnington Beach's sand is softer and prettier? I don't understand. I know it has to do with what kind of different minerals are in the sand, but like which ones? What kind?
Because it's like Florida's sand softness status. lol.

My son is doing a science project that calls for various water types in jars to be evaporated. It says that you may either leave the jars in the sun or for a faster approach, put the jars in the oven for a few hours at 200 degrees. They have been in there now for about three hours and not a drop of water is gone. Should I up the temperature or what?
