Name bands whose names just don't reflect in their style of music ...

For example: Eagles of Death (David Grohl's side project - certainly not a death metal band)

My fellow Y/A classic country music fans don't you think it's high time that we all started getting along with each other on here? We are all adults and should act like adults. None of us knows everything about the music we all love so well but the bickering between the ones who have been on here for a long time needs to stop and we need to welcome the new classic country music fans into our circle of friends. As I have said before the he said she said causes a lot of needless friction. Lets' all get back to doing what we are supposed to be doing on here and spread the good word about classic country music and stop the infighting. Let's all make up and start over. The points won't pay your bills or buy you a tank of gas so it ain't no big deal. Jealousy can cause too many problems. I like all of you and have met some wonderful people on here so let's all get back to the good old days. What are your thoughts on this suggestion????

What class would you teach?

I guess mine would be "Required 80s Metal Listening".

It would cover the period from 1983 - 1992 with an emphasis on the LA scene and MTV's Headbanger's Ball. It would also cover influences and follow-ups on the major acts of the period.

You could take all, well SOME of these kids who come here asking *legit*, but sometimes clueless basic question about rock music could all be sat down & made to watch a comprehensive, in-depth History of Rock documentary? Like, the birth of rock (1950s) all the way to today. & I'm talking All genres covered just so no one gets left out.

To my eyes, too many of them have no idea where their music came from.

Just hadda ask/rant. Don't mind me. I'm done.

we have a charity event coming next week and there's going to be a rodeo with an auction taking place during the recess. We are all volunteers and need music that can help us cheer people so they bid more, but it still has to be country.
Any ideas for happy, upbeat country songs?
Do you think playing an electro tune or two is out of place?

The rest of the questions seem rather boring today...
At least I'm trying.

I'm going to go with The Ramones. The differences between Joey and Johnny were astounding1
If your not familiar: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ramones...
It's amazing they stayed together as long as they did.

"My company recently acquired an old Clarinet which we would like to put on Ebay. Unfortunately we don't know anything about this instrument. The Clarinet itself has "La Premiere Francais" etched into the horn, but the inside of the hard case has a label marked "Oliver Ditson Co." on it. Is there any information you could give us about this instrument, particularly its age or proper country of origin? We appreciate your help."

Listen. [Leans in, speaking directly into the recorder] Darling, I don’t care what nobody think. Talk to me like you talking to Martin Luther King or Malcolm X. You’re not about to ask him about what he think about what somebody said about him. You ’bout to ask him about his greatness, and his greatness only. I don’t care what nobody think. If I did, you wouldn’t be sitting on my muthafuckin’ million-dollar bus in my 15th year at the same muthafuckin’ company and business. I’m a role model. You should get like me. Get like you? No. Get like me. Ya understand me? I’m not hot. Hot dies out. Baby, I’m me. Who the **** done this? Nobody. Compare me to people that’s not even living, baby. And they didn’t even do it—what they comparing me to. No disrespect to them. You found songs on those people after they died. I’m still living.

Seriously. Celine Dion is playing a show here in Columbus and Ticketmaster is reserving the best seats at $1000 to $2000 a ticket.

http://www.ticketmaster.com/exchange/05003F67DE798F8F/?sort=price&page=2

Not that I would EVER go see Celine in concert... but I'm using this as an example. Another example would be Hannah Montana. Parents are paying out thousands to get tickets to see her show. Why?

So, what's your threshold? How much would you pay to see your favorite band?
