1. He was a back up dancer for Digital Underground (see "the Humpty Dance" and "Same Song"
2. He studied Acting, Ballet, poetry, and jazz in the prestigious Baltimore School of Arts
3. In Harlem (where he grew up, not Oakland) he was part of an acting troupe (i.e. Broadway plays)
4. He never had a prison record until AFTER he was a rap artist
I'm not taking away from his impact or his talent, which he definetely had. But I'm just wondering why people think he was a thug? I think he was an intelligent actor who eventually lost track of who he really was and what he was trying to portray.
