Basquiat - Soundtrack

I love that era of music and the covers as well as some of the originals are first rate..

Joy Division, Van Morrison with Them, Pogues, David Bowie and John Cale.

The soundtrack carries a unique feel throughout the movie and sounds great on its own.

yay a Big Lebowski fan!

Soundtracks I love:

American Beauty
Goodfellas
All Tarantino films
Gladiator
Pi
Fight Club
Aladdin
Grosse Pointe Blank

Ahhh so many!

But my favourite would have to be (of course) The Big Lebowski. Why, you ask? Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Captain Beefheart...the reasons are many.

But first and foremost it is my favourite because of two songs..

Gipsy Kings' Hotel California always conjures up the image of Jesus Quintana, and was used to perfection in that scene.

Just Dropped In...by Kenny Rogers and the First Edition is a fantastic song and I never tire of listening to it. In fact, I may just request it for my funeral!

I gotta give mad props to the Repo Man soundtrack (Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Fear, etc.) but I think the Singles soundtrack is my favorite, especially for the Paul Westerburg solo tracks and Smashing Pumpkins' Drown.
