Try Grant Green's album Matador. This album is guitar, bass, piano, and drums. The music is good and easy to like for a jazz beginner.

This is a sort of bossa nova. It fits somewhere into the Latin category of jazz. Sure you can say this is jazz, but it's LA cool jazz. Not my favorite. A little too Kenny G for me.

Check out George Benson's Spain & also his Grand New World Album. He plays awesome guitar passages & sings out simultaneously well. You'll really like it. Good luck!

Try 'Live Evil' by Miles Davis (yeah he's a trumpet player but that album has some great guitar and drums on it - you will like it if you're into rock)

You have GOT to check out Joe Pass. He is THE jazz guitarist. He plays standards mostly - amazing, AMAZING player.
Check him out and let me know what you think.

Ditto on George Benson. Pat Metheny's pretty good too.

yeah, check all of the above, and also Stanley Jordan, he has a great technique, though more of a jazz fusion.
