Im looking for a song kinda about going now the wrong path, not really knowing who you are anymore.

I am sopose be writing a paper on the social, technological and economic factors in the 1960's that led to the rise of rock fm. i don't know where to start, because, i don't know much about fm station and why was rock music played on the fm station vs the am station... SO Could someone PLEASE help me with this...I have been trying to look for sources but nothing is telling me anything relevant to my question......THanks in advanced i appreciate it very much
