I saw Aerosmith with Marshall Crenshaw in '84, Marshall Crenshaw put on a decent show but when it came time for Aerosmith, Steven Tyler was so drunk he couldn't even remember the words much less sing it and after about 10~15 minutes he fell off the stage thus ending the concert.
Gee thanks Stevie!

Linkin park , in New Jersey last May... they played a pretty good set , but since it was a mostly emo festival half the crowd was groups of high schoolers who came with their parents or 30-something couple looking for an 'edgy' date, which means there was basically no energy among the crowd...if you crowd surfed you where HAULED like an animal to the back and on the way there the emo's parents or some ***** who dressed up to see nu-metal would yell and say things like "this isn't that type of show you asshole"

Great band
pathetic Jersey crowd

Hands down, Counting Crows at the Wiltern Theatre in the late '90s...the poor drummer was relegated to the side of the stage because the riser contained a HUUUUUGE grand piano...which wasn't used by Adam "Sideshow Bob" Duritz until the encore, when he only played it for about two minutes before hitting the stage again.

Meanwhile, you could only view the drummer if you were in the balcony....

I would say that it was a concert with 311 and Pepper. 311 was fine but Pepper was truly horrid. The lead singer kept spewing out foul language and threw beer into the crowd. Then the group seemed to never want to leave the stage. They kept saying that this would be their last song but then would play another one and this kept up for what seemed to be forever. Finally, they left the stage and I was so happy.

Guns N' Roses / Skid Row - Birmingham, AL 1991

Skid Row rocked, but GN'R just stunk up the place.

A close second worst would be Bon Jovi in Atlanta, GA on the Have a Nice Day tour.... boooooooorrrrrrrrrrring

The Cars - Wang Chung in 1984. The Cars did not talk at all.
Zero Energy.

I also Taylor Dayne in the 80's and she appeared intoxicated and out of sorts.

Steppenwolf. Their first hit ("Born To be Wild"?) had basically hit the FM airwaves and it became into glaring that studio tricks made the checklist. they might slightly play their gadgets OR the songs. It became right into a "pretend" band like the Monkeys! a huge sadness from the seventeenth row.
