Ive been out of the loop for a bit. My favorite bands are

Lamb Of God
Killswitch Engage
Unearth
As I Lay Dying
Bleeding Through
All That Remains
old Atreyu
old Avenged Sevenfold
old Haste The Day

I want new bands. I grew up with the older stuff so dont recommend Pantera or Slayer. Thanks

For example, "Ghost Beside My Bed" by Altered State, is not only lyrically about ghosts, but the music itself sounds ghostly. I'm looking for songs directly about ghosts, that aren't halloween spooky sounds type stuff. =)

They couldn't be more different! CD stores, book stores, wall*mart, Yahoo Answers... I went to over 10 CD stores today and every single one of them Rock and Pop were grouped together.

Punk gets it's own catagorey (not on this website but still), Thrash, Hardcoar, Hiphop/Rap, Country... they all get their own catagorey.

And the other thing that irritates me is they put things like Metal, ALT, ect. in with the Rock. I dont get why those catagoreys dont get their own shelves. It's not like there isnt enough of it to make up a full aisle.

Most other generes of music take up one aisle.

The Rock/Pop one takes up like 6.

It just pisses me off. It shouldn't be that hard to put things into right groups.

I tutor preteens/young teens and they all listen to pretty bad music (Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers, FOB, P!atD) and I told them, "you know there's alot better music out there?" and they said they know, but they're too young to know it.
What kind of excuse is "I'm too young to listen to good music?"
When I was their age, I was jamming to the Beatles, do they expect good music to just come to them with age?
Anyone else come across this kind of behavior before?

I love Americain Metal when I was in high school did research on the history of and found the greatest music of all time The Blues. R.L. Burnside and the other Mississippi Country blues artist are my favorite. Now the John Spencer Blues Explosion I really liked but I recently had seen Black Snake Moan and got the soundtrack The Black Keys are the only thing that I have listen to for the past eight days all thier albums over and over again. I would really like some more bands that are simular. I really don't need answers like the white stripes, SRV, Geogre Throughgood, Kenny Wayne Shepard,or the meat shakers whatever thier name is. I am Aware of Ben Harper also he is top Five material in my book.

I don't know any of the lyrics or who sings it!
I do know it was used in an episode of I Love the 80's:3D (somewhere between '83-'86) and an episode of King of the Hill where Lou Ann is bouncing on a trampoline with a guy.
It starts off with what sounds like tribal music.
Any ideas?

Im a rolling stones fan..i know the main songs but since it was wayy before my time i dont really know the more obscure ones.. Why? i thought we all came here to ask/answer questions and give our opinions on certain topics. So why is it that everytime someone goes against the grain, they are called a hater? is that what a hater is, having a different opinion? i just got done looking at a question where someone disagreed with a popular opinion that Tupac wasnt the G.O.A.T., and people were coming in playin the "hater card"...since when are you a hater for having an opinion that you came up w/ your own mind, rather than just going w/ what some people think is cool, or what the majority of everyone else likes?

I realize this question has probably been asked millions of times, but what I'm looking for ISN'T some boring song that says the same thing over and over to a constant, sickeningly, pounding beat. I really like the songs, "Night of Fire" by Niko, ATC's "All Around the World", "Raindrops" by Stunt, "Wonderland" by Crazyravers, and "Angel of Darkness" by Alex C. ....Does anyone know of any OTHER really neat songs that are like this????
