If you haven't seen (heard) these, you will be amazed.
Go watch these on youtube. (Two parts.)

This is another one that I think sounds even better but has only a slideshow instead of a video. Both parts are together, here.

So, I tried out for this pretty competitive youth orchestra and SOMEHOW I made it into the chamber group (I expected to get into the regular group at most)
I'm 16 and I've only been playing violin since I was 13 though, but I have been learning piano since I was 5 and I have perfect pitch so I picked up the violin pretty quickly. However, I know I'm not up to par with the people that are going to be in my orchestra because they've all been playing since they were little...and they all sound really good.
I don't want to be like second violin last stand though, and I'm really really scared that that's going to happen to me.
I've never had a seating audition before so can people tell me what to expect? I already received some of my songs:

Chamber - Brahms - Hungarian Dances 1,3 & 10; Vaughn Williams - Overture to "The Wasps"

Ahhhhh I only have until September 11 to practice and I am soo nervous! Any advice would be much appreciated!

Tschaikowsky's String Quartet in D major?
I know it's kinda 'out there'
but I'm part of a quartet that's trying to get this piece set up for a competition. I'm the celliest and I'm having a bit of difficulty with counting in the 9/8 time.
Even if you haven't played this piece...any helpful tips on counting with a 9/8 time? How can I practice this with a metronome? HELP!!! lol

Search for "Final Fantasy" on YouTube or music sharing programs. It is amazing classical music, not enough adults know of it as it is from a game.

I'm trying to put together a soundtrack for a documentary drama I'm producing, and I have some music in mind, but don't know the lyrics, and don't know the artists nor titles.

Everyone has heard the music before, but no one seems to know what it is called. It sounds like opera, and church music put together and is very dramatic like a choir singing gothic stuff in another language, but it sounds.. - umm..something like (please try not to laugh, I'm being serious and don't know any other way to describe it)

"hee huh huh hee [big drum sound] hee huh huh hee [big drum sound] hee huh huh huuuuuhhh huuuuuhhh huh heeeeeee [doo doot] (voices raise in tone) hee huh huh hee [doot doot] hee huh huh hee [doot doot] hee huh huh huuuuuuuuuuuh huuuuuuuh huh heeeeeeeee (lower tone) heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"

Does anyone know what it is (if you can decipher it)?

I've already played his 20th Sonata (Opus 49 No. 2). Everyone has told me to play his opus 49 sonatas, so I'm rephrasing my question and saying....What are some Beethoven sonatas I can play that aren't extremely difficult but are still challenging, excluding opus 49? I just think they're a little too easy.

I am considering purchasing a 'Marshall and Wendell' baby grand piano. Based on it's appearances, I was told it was made in the 1950s but the piano retailer cannot seem to locate the serial number.

Does anyone have any experience with this piano manufacturer? If so, do you have any suggestions on where the serial number may be located? Also, do you have any thoughts on this piano manufacturer? I did many online searches for this company and cannot seem to find to much information to date.

I have always found this song very powerful and moving. It starts out...."Just yesterday morning they let me know you were gone. Suzanne the plans they made put an end to you."

And the part at the end of the last verse "sweet dreams and fine machines in pieces on the ground."

Is there a story there?
