I've DJed weddings and class reunions, although I haven't in a long time. Some of these songs are old to REALLY old, but they're still popular today at country dances. The songs I am about to suggest are to be utilized throughout the night between newer, more current numbers, two-steps and what-have-you to create a really effective dance mix.

If you want a good jitterbug, The South's Gonna Do It Again by the Charlie Daniels Band, found on Decade of Hits, (or iTunes,) always brings down the house.

To rock the house, You Shook Me All Night Long by AC/DC always seems to be a hard rock tune that is well embraced by country folk.

For a good country waltz, you absolutely cannot and will not go wrong with I See It Now by Tracy Lawrence. I think it's about the best waltz ever recorded by any artist of any genre, period. Another one is "Silver Wings" by Merle Haggard.

To set a slower mood and give people a breather, and also to let grandma and grandpa get up and enjoy a nice, slow dance, Unforgettable by Nat King Cole. Or the one mixed with Natalie. They go ape sh!t for it. Trust me.

And lastly, for the swing folks, you can't overlook House Of Blue Lights by Asleep At the Wheel. Or you can even try In The Mood by Glenn Miller.

Of course you can blend all this stuff in with today's country, and find plenty of two-steps to go along with the material I have just mentioned. Sprinkling these songs in throughout the night at strategic moments will give you a well-rounded dance that everyone in attendance will enjoy. I have just given you a recepe for a dance that will be the talk of the town after it's over. Trust me.
