I agree with you on how profoundly inspirational and powerful the piece is, but I think most people hear that and get freaked out by it. Their only experience with it is the creepy, haunted house stuff and that really interferes with the true import of the music.

Zenbull, I agree, especially when you consider the artificial recording advantages the smaller instrument might enjoy. But I was still amazed at the ability of an accordion to play such a creditable rendition of the piece.
The guy in the two-part video is Vitale Dmitriev. The one in the slideshow is Viktor Romanko. You might want to look up Alexander Dmitriev playing the flight of the bumble bee. I guess these two dmitrievs are brothers.
