I really like the mix of psychedellic riffs and jazzy basslines, as well as the crazy sound effects and variation from track to track on the album. I want to purchase another Floyd album but there are about 20 to pick from.

I have heard samples on amazon etc but can't tell from them which albums will have a similar feel to them. Does anyone know which period the Dark Side of the moon sound was in and which albums where originally made around the same time?

This came up because, only recently, Paul McCartney songs are available for purchase on IPod Library (but not Beatle songs yet). Looking over the list, I noted only a handful of songs that can compare to much of his earlier work with the Beatles. These are, imo:
