In some of his concerts the way he dressed & danced around seemed a bit feminine, I don mean it as an insult either, I'm a pretty big ACDC fan and have just recently got a live DVD of them and the question came to mind

There are several opinions on what the Eagles meant when they wrote Hotel California. With a lot of research I've found that there are two main beliefs: One is that it was about drugs, and two, that it was about the lifestyle of being in the music industry (which would include drugs). They both provide good arguments. Some believe that the line "Then she lit up a candle" does not refer to a literal candle, but she was lighting up meth (or marijuana or whatever else you think they were smoking). And that the lines "they stab it with their steely knives but they just can't kill the beast" and "you can check out any time you like but you can never leave" talk about how you can never really get over the addiction. Im not sure what I think it means. Please post your sources if you can

To me these kids are stupid. They all look the same and act the same. I thought the whole point of this was to show you were not a conformist, but if you are dressing up in black and cutting yourself like everyone else, isn't that conforming? Can someone please explain to me what the hell is so great about this stupid style. Yeah, and the music? Emo really isn't a music class. 10 years ago it was Alternative, 20 years ago it was "new wave" or "modern rock" and 30 years ago it was "punk". I recently saw someone class The Cure as Emo and I almost threw up and I bet Robert Smith would have also.

HERE ARE SOME OF THE LYRICS:

i ran to the lord.
"please hide me, lord!
don't you see me praying?
don't you see me down here praying?"...
but the lord said, "go to the devil"
the lord said "go to the devil" ...
i ran to the devil. he was waiting.

Ok this might sound like a stupid question, but there's this concert going on tonight called the Bob Marley Fest. Some of my favorite reggae artists are gonna be there, as well as Ms. Lauryn Hill herself. The thing is, I'm 39 wks pregnant with a cold! Hahaha.. i know.. stupid for even asking.. but my bf's cousin can get us in for FREE if we just give him the word. They said they can put me in a "special place" where I can see the performances and be comfortable. I really wanted to go last year, but I had to work and couldn't request off. I REALLY wanna go!!!! But i dunno... I was able to go to a UFC Fight back in November last year and that was all good! So what do you guys think?

I've seen references to it being written by Harry Dixon Loes, but isn't it an African-American spiritual? Does anyone have references to this song being sung before 1900? Thanks.

It's usually played during scenes where someone either is reunited with someone or something they love or when a person finds what he/she has been searching for. Often it's used for comic effect...like if someone finds the perfect sandwich or something dumb like that. The music will play; beams of sunlight will come down from the heavens, etc. Sometimes it's played as a man and woman rush toward each other in a cliche reunion. Sometimes it's a love at first sight kind of thing. The music features mostly strings, and it seems to be the same version or recording each time I've heard it. I can't name a particular movie or show that used it, or I would simply pull the music from that source. And I can't hum the tune. So I'm hoping someone will be able to give me the title based on this vague information/djescription. The melody is very "sweeping." Maybe someone has seen the kind of scenes I'm talking about and also happens to be up on their classical music. Help! Thanks.
