My sister Katie is 19 and having a baby, and I'm working on a mix CD for her. To give you an idea of what I'm looking for, here are some songs I have picked out already:
-Someday I Will Understand (Britney Spears); this was written during Britney's first pregnancy, and while I'm not a fan of hers, the song is perfect for the situation, because no one planned for Katie to get pregnant so young, but hopefully someday she'll look at her baby and understand why God put her in this situation
-Katie (Andrew McMahon or Jack's Mannequin); listen to this, it's obvious why this one will work so well
-Blackbird (The Beatles, covered by Sarah McLachlin); a good song about new life, I think
-My Wish (Rascall Flatts); how I feel about her, how I always want the best for her, but it can also be how either of us feels about the baby, how we want it to have the best life possible
-Whenever You Remember (Carrie Underwood); a sort of 'back in the day' song, perfect for sisters who have grown up
