Obviously the win by the Dixie Chicks is a political statement.

I don't like their music that much (that's personal taste- but I am saying this from a musicality standpoint... and not simply "by taste"), but after hearing it over and over...and the music of the other nominees.. I actually feel sorry for all the musicians who were passed over for talent...when they (the voters) chose to vote for ... a support/anti-war/political ideal.

I hope these worthy musicians, who were passed over, have more successful years in which they are nominated- so that they didn't miss out on their ONE shot..over non-musical votes.

Whatever happened to good, kick you inthe face rock? While a lot of 80's rock acts have not aged well, I do miss music that has a pulse. Seems everytime I hear what I think to be a good song, they switch the tempo to some slow, depressing, slice my own wrist kind of flat drone. Hate that.
Can anyone recommend some good groups? I like Powderfinger, Wolfmother is OK, but any group that just rips with an acidic howl would be good.
