Music is basically controlled sound, and sound is a natural phenomena. I think the ability to control sound came more as a development rather than a creation. That's not to say people don't create music. The many things around us, and in us, each have their own unique vibratory rates, frequencies, and rhythms. It is out of the need for humans to understand and control their environment that music has evolved.

Music was not created, it was discovered. Music existed even before human race started to sing, we only learnt about it. And since, it's entertaining, we made music a part of our daily lives.
