The term "best song" is very subject. For myself, it depends on the genre music. Are you talking about rock, jazz, blues, country, soul, rap. classical (You get the picture)
I have found that most people who can narrow their musical preference down to one favorite song usually are very limited when it comes to music appreciation,

I never got into grateful dead, but I love the entire greatest hits by JOURNEY. Steve Perry has always been a favorite of mine. Just beautiful lyrics

Whoa! Thats a pretty tough one to answer. First u have to specify the genre, then perhaps u could compartmentalize the gender. Hmm...not easy right? Perhaps a favorite song would sound better and easier to answer...just a suggestion.

Stairway to Heaven has to be the lyrics are ungodly, the guitar, the bass the drums which he was one of the best drummers ever for his time are all ungodly I mean its overplayed ill agree with that but with everything all put together like that will never happen again.
