It's usually played during scenes where someone either is reunited with someone or something they love or when a person finds what he/she has been searching for. Often it's used for comic effect...like if someone finds the perfect sandwich or something dumb like that. The music will play; beams of sunlight will come down from the heavens, etc. Sometimes it's played as a man and woman rush toward each other in a cliche reunion. Sometimes it's a love at first sight kind of thing. The music features mostly strings, and it seems to be the same version or recording each time I've heard it. I can't name a particular movie or show that used it, or I would simply pull the music from that source. And I can't hum the tune. So I'm hoping someone will be able to give me the title based on this vague information/djescription. The melody is very "sweeping." Maybe someone has seen the kind of scenes I'm talking about and also happens to be up on their classical music. Help! Thanks.

II knew exactly what you were talking about I just listened to Tchaikovsky's Romeo & Juliet Overture Fantasy and I'm 99.9% sure that's what you're thinking of. You have to listen to the piece for a few minutes until those passages are played.

I really suspect that the music you are hearing is the "Love Theme" from Tchaikovsky's "Romeo and Juliet"

http://www.amazon.com/Tchaikovsky-Romeo-Juliet-Nutcracker-Swan/dp/B0000025WF/sr=8-9/qid=1171074290/ref=sr_1_9/102-8050158-2219319?ie=UTF8&s=music

Alternatively, possibly from Rachmaninoff's "Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini."
