The DVD industry has often warned us against buying pirate DVDs because we risk disappointment from poor quality.

I decided to put this claim to the test and bought the following 3 major summer hits on pirate DVDs.

Here is what I found:

Pirates of the Carribean: a turgid film based on a theme park ride, comprising a series of quests each becoming more inconsequential, until the viewer almost loses the will to live.

Cars: a professionally engineered film but flavourless and selfsatisfied, lacking any semblance of a quality script and dialogue.

Superman Returns: a stolid, dull film that reinvents the story of Jesus sacrificing himself for the rest of us, but this time staring a white bread all American guy in tights.

The DVD industry was right - in each case I had bought a poor quality DVD, which was not worth watching.

Has anyone else out there wasted their money with these pirate DVDs?

The Joy luck Club is such a Fantastic Movie!..My mom made me watch that when I was 18..The stories were sooo powerful.

I loved when the young wife was baking that Peanut Cake for her husband, to beg him not to leave her--and her mother was like:

"You bake this--what you think he say--'Oh, I so sorry! Forgive me'..NO, he only take you for More granted!".

...."This not knowing--Not Knowing What You Are Worth--this can't be!"

I CRY EVERY TIME I SEE THAT! :)

When I was Kid I enjoyed the movie SongOf The South.
I have been searching but cannot find it. I think My Grandchildren would enjoy the music and the stories.

Hi, I am the leader of a magic order that protects our galaxy. We are the smartest, wisest people to ever exist but the following has us stumped. Lately our Republic has fallen into chaos. There has been Civil War, a mysterious clone army appeared, and power struggles in our government. We know for a fact that a Sith (our ancient foes) is controlling all this, but for the life of us we can't figure out who it is. We have even been told from one of his cronies that he has control of the senate. You might think that this means it could be the emperor, but we don't because he is such a darned nice guy, even though he has taken emergency power of the army, smiles creepily, keeps telling our best pupil that Jedis are a bunch of morons, and only a few years ago was just a senator on Naboo (where, come to think of it this whole mess started). Also talks a lot about the Dark Side. Like I said, we ultra-wise Jedis are at a loss. I know y'all are just random joes, but any ideas?

I have once in a life time idea for a movie that has topical interest and could settle big international differences once and for all; or start WWIII.

It can be embellished as fiction but is really fact.

I have some writing background but not in movie scripts. I don't want to do a book when a movie will do. I want good money for my idea, but it is so simple in your face, that it will be hard to keep the credit without honest help.

How can I market my idea? How and where do I start to get this idea on screen?
