I want to make sure there's no profanity and that there's no mention of Santa Claus not being real. Thanks.

Well, there's a scene where he surprises the female lead in the shower. There are people throughout the film who don't believe in Santa. It also spoofs numerous films, including the Bigfoot footage and the park police on horseback as the Dark Riders from LOTR. No profanity that I can recall.

I don't remember if there is profanity; I don't think it was and it didn't dispell the myth of Santa...but it sure was boring. It was the in-flight movie on an airplane when I saw it. Just don't show him "The badder Santa" because it is loaded with profanity; I didn't actually watch it because of that.

Very cute movie, but I don't think I would let a 4 1/2 year old watch it. Maybe 7 or 8.

Don't think there is. Usually in the movie, people tell the person they're a freak for still believing in Santa, but Santa eventually comes.

I think Elf is a little old for a 4 1/2 year old.

It's a great movie for a 4 1/2 year old. It's hilarious for older people too.

it is a great answer it does say once in a while that Santa is fake but right then "ELF" says that he is real and proves it at the very end let your kids see it will make good sense if you want rent for yourself and watch it WITHOUT the kids and see if you think it is appropriate for the kids

it is great for any age... it does have a mention of santa clause not being real or people not "believing" anymore but of course shows that there is a santa just like any good santa movie should do!
its very funny!!! enjoy!
