The Grim Reaper basically wants to feel like what it feels to be alive - so he assumes the identity of a recently deceased (Brad Pitt - what Fabio wasn't available???). He makes a deal with an old guy (Hannibal Lecter) who was supposed to die of a heart attack, that if he shows the Grim Reaper what life is all about, he would let him live a while longer. Death falls for chick, unrequited love, soppy lovey climax, Death unquits his day job, old man buys the farm. THE END.

I know a lot of people seem to have liked this movie but I just couldn't watch it all because it lost me somewhere early on. Anthony Hopkins is a terrific actor and I have enjoyed several of his other movies. "Meet Joe Black" to me is in the same category as "The English Patient" and "Finding Neverland", I just could not watch any of these movies long enough to decide if they were any good.
