The artist is Deitrick Haddon and the Voices of Unity. The CD is called " All-Star Edition" and it came out in 2004.

hear women say it is not how the man looks that is important, it is how he is inside. Then why do I see the pretty girls out with handsome guys. I am an obese disabled man who is kind and loving. Women have said I am the best friend kind, but not the dateable kind. So whats up with that?

The song starts with a voice-over over a keyboard, then verse 1 goes "Desolation angel, your pretty dress in tatters/still looking for heaven, or does it even matter?" The bridge goes "Sweet beauty doesn't drag you down/All the (unremembered word) in this great big town/(next part not remembered)/Are you ever gonna fly?/ When you gonna start this dance on fire? Desolation angel..." I believe it came out around late '89-early '90 but I am not sure. The singer sounds a little like Bruce Springsteen (but I know it isn't him).
