In the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, California....there is a Polynesian restaurant called "The Tonga Room"....
As you approach the entrance you can hear the tribal drums...
As you enter the restaurant you step into
"a tropical paradise......of night time in Hawaii"
You walk over a bridge that sits over a huge lake which is the center of the restraunt, in the lake there is a Hawaiian man sitting on a small barge playing a Ukalalii.
The tables are all positioned around the lakes edge,and made of bamboo with those palm frong umbrellas for privacy.
Alot of the drinks are served in coconut shells, the table setting is totally tropical. The cuisine is a Polynesian/ Pan Asian blend. Excellent, and actually not as expensive as you would think.
Every half hour....there is a thunder and lightening "tropical storm....and rain pours down from the sky over the lake !!!
