What's the deal with the game show Deal or No Deal?

Well, here in our country I think they are faking the game show!
Ever since the game started airing here in our local TV, all of the players are local celebrities! I am starting to think that they are just doing it for the TV's rating and not actually giving away the money!
Sure, they pay the player, but I think they are just paying them talent fees rather than giving the exact money which they have won.
How about in your country? Who plays there? Celebreties or local people?

why do people hate on things they dont understand?
