I just saw a trivia tv show which had a question something like "The movie was filmed by John and __". The options were I or Me. And they said the answer was Me, not I.

I thought the rule was ALWAYS when saying "me and John" that it MUST be rephrased as "John and I".

Are there exceptions to this rule?

When people correct spellings on line, they sometimes make comments about the person not knowing the spelling, when it is actually a 'typo'. The difference being, a typing error is when the hand hits the wrong key although the mind knows the spelling.

Typical 'typo' signals are:
- double letter reverse (e.g. ball becomes blaa);
-Slight mis-ordering (close becomes colse);
-Leaving out or typing one letter twice;
-Hitting nearby letters instead of the intended one (no becomes bo, or bno).

Just asking because I can spell (I mis-typed that splell) but Can't (acn't) type too well. I do recognise typos when I see them though, and mention them as 'typos', without telling the person they 'can't spell'. You can see the difference by looking at the word then your keyboard, plus mis-spells often have sound patterns which typos don't.

Can you tell the difference?

I mean, where did acronymed words like LOL, ROFL, or BRB come from? I just learnt them from my friends, and they probably learnt it from others, too. Makes me think on who came up with them. Penny for your thoughts?

This is the last sentence in my conclusion paragraph for a paper on the american dream and the great gatsby. All i need to know is if it sounds good/bad/horrible. Basically i just need to know if it makes sense. If not please leave suggestions. Here it is.

It may seem impossible to achieve the American dream, and for most people it will be, but for those who live their life to it’s fullest, their dreams may be closer then they could imagine.

Someone is sending me a magazine that they own, and I told them that I'd pay for the shipping.

They sent me an email back saying "Don't worry about paying anything, consider it a RAK!"

Now what does RAK mean??? We both like to knit, could this be a knitting abbreviation???
